Classroom word games
Word games can make vocabulary and spelling practice feel active without taking over the lesson.
Quick warmups
- Unscramble three words from yesterday's lesson.
- Find a word that starts and ends with a specific letter.
- Write the longest word possible from six letters.
Small-group activities
Give each group the same letter set and ask them to find as many valid words as possible in three minutes. Award extra points for longer words or words used correctly in a sentence.
Review stations
Create one station for scrambles, one for definitions, one for sentence writing, and one for a word search. Rotating stations keeps the review moving.
